Internal:
The Imperial 3Rs Hub finance the progress of the 3Rs and rewards excellence at Imperial College London. We support research and learning opportunities, as well as openness and public engagement initiatives.
3Rs Funding:
- Yearly call for seed grant to finance researchers’ ideas for projects focused on refinement/reduction techniques in collaboration with the staff of CBS. Examples of researches funded trough this scheme can be found in the Themes section.
- Ad-hoc bursaries for PhD students with a 3Rs-remit project to attend conferences and disseminate their 3Rs results.
- Sponsors departmental seminar sessions and dedicated workshops to promote 3Rs in specific research areas.
3Rs Award:
- Part of the Imperial President’s Award Scheme, the Provost’s Awards for excellence in animal research celebrate Imperial researchers and staff advancing the 3Rs and engaging the public on it.
- We celebrate our 3Rs advances at our yearly Animal Research Forum. PhD students and CBS Staff working on 3Rs projects have a chance to present their work at the Forum, gaining recognition from peers and have a chance to network with experts from all Imperial departments.
External:
The Imperial 3Rs Hub is part of a large network of likeminded people. We support Imperial researchers and staff to promote their 3Rs worldwide through other organisation’s 3R initiatives.
